Defibrillators
Automatic External Defibrillation units (AED) have the
capability to save the lives of employees and visitors in need
if placed strategically throughout the Park. Nearly two million
individuals visit the Park each year and in recent years the
Park staff has treated on average seven cardiac-related
emergencies annually. The Park hopes to one day have 23 units
which would allow for one to be placed within five minutes of
each major tourism area. Accessibility is very important because
there is only a ten minute window of time before it is too late
to use an AED. This grant funded the addition of four more AED
units, which are now located throughout the Park. Funding
provided in 2006 with cooperation from Flathead Electrics Round
Up For Safety purchased four additional AEDs that will be housed
at the remote locations of Sperry and Granite Park Chalets.
