  Historic Art and Archives

Glacier National Park’s museum collection currently includes approximately 2,200 archeological artifacts, of which about 30% (or 900 artifacts) are un-cataloged and their associated data have not been entered into the park’s Automated National Catalog System. These artifacts are throughout the park ranging from campsites to vision quest sites to historic 20th century Euro-American mining and homesteading sites. The un-cataloged status of these important artifacts leaves the park with two deficiencies: limited access to these artifacts and a persistent archeological cataloging backlog.
